How many
of you have also forgotten your mobile password, pin or pattern? Yesterday, I
met my friend who just comes by formatting his Android Smartphone just because
of forgetting his mobile pattern. It becomes a tedious task to setting up your
mobile phone again from a scratch.
Do you
think mobile is useless after forgetting your password? If you think yes then
you are wrong. There is always way to make your mobile phone usable by doing
simple trick, as long as you remember Google’s account username and password,
so let’s do it..
To try
this feature, first enter an incorrect pattern, pin or password for 5 times at
the lock screen. You will see “Forgot Pattern”, “Forgot pin” or “Forgot
Password” button appear on the screen. Tap it, you will be supposed to enter
the username or password of the Google account associated with your android
device. Note that this feature was removed in Android 5.0 and UP. It means, there is no simple way to reset your
pin, pattern, password to gain access to your phone or tablet rather than these
provide functionality to protect your data from hackers.
Using Google’s Android Device Manager:
If your
device has Google’s Android Device Manager enabled, you can visit the Android
Device Manager website and log in with the same Google account you use on that
Android device. Select the device you’re locked out of and select “Erase” to
remotely erase it. You’ll be able to set it up from scratch afterwards — the
lock code will be removed, but the device will also be wiped.
Factory Reset Your Android Smartphone:
Assuming
you don’t have remembered Google’s account username or password, you should
probably give up your data stored on device. You can get your device into
usable state but you will lose your valuable data by using factory reset, setting
up it again from a scratch.
If your
device has removable SD card, you’ll probably want to remove the SD card before
performing the factory reset, just to ensure that your SD card will not get
formatted. It’s probably best to shut down your device, remove the SD card, and
then continue.
You can
also use few other tricks that might work. For example, on Samsung devices, if
you’ve logged into the device with a Samsung account, you can go to the Samsung
Find My Mobile website, log in with
the same Samsung account, and use the “Unlock my screen” option to remotely
remove your device’s lock screen. Other manufacturers might potentially offer
similar features if they have a device-tracking website if you’ve signed up
for.
